Sarks is a series of large format oil paintings. They depict the expressive nature of flesh and body. In this series, Kalinowska looks for similarities between all living creatures. She tries to compare emotions connected to the spiritual human nature (soma) and the flesh of material beings (sarks).

This collection is highly influenced by meat narratives in art history. It takes its beginning from baroque Vanitas, and Rembrandt’s Slaughtered Ox. These examples and their meaning within their own cultures have been discussed by Kalinowska in her master's thesis.
